Flowingstar led the way to the oak forest, feeling the sun on her back.. She hung her head forward to shade her eyes, and paused to glance behind her. She hoped her warriors would be coming soon. The shadow of a huge oak tree was silhouetted on the ground, and she moved into it. Waiting for the others.

Riverheart padded into the forest after his leader, pausing now and then to cautiously sniff the air for any signs of danger. He saw his leader, and walked silently over to her. He would not start hunting until she gave the signal, and the other warriors arrived. __________________________________________________________________________
Silverstream joined the two cats, dipping her head respectfully to her deputy and leader. She sat down by Riverheart, so close that the fur of the two cats touched, gray against silver. She felt a tingling in her paws, and a small pur grew in her throught.

Flowingstar looked at the two warriors. "Well," she said, "I guess we are just waiting for Pixipelt." She scanned the forest methodically, looking for the fourth hunter. She could smell the strong scent of prey, tiny mice, voles, and squirrels scurrying about all around her, could hear the minute scrabbling and squeaking. She ran her toungue over her teeth and lips, her mouth watering, eager to get along with the hunt.

Silverstream nodded and scanned the undergrowth. She heard the rustling of tiny prey in the bushes, and saw a mouse not to far away sitting unaware on a rock, nibbling a seed. __________________________________________________________________________
As Riverheart watched Silverstream, he admired her awarness of her surroundings. Again he was caught in awe of her amazing green eyes and rippling silver pelt. He began to wonder what kind of a mate she would make, and maybie even a mother? He forced himself to turn his attention back watching for any signs of danger, or the approach of the other warriors.

ooc: I just realised that what I know of I think Pixipelt is medicine cat of what I know I am not sure I asked Flairstar and I asked if I can have medicine cat and she said Yeah of what Clan and I said River so I don't know if I am med cat as it doesn't say who is med cat. Med cats aren't aloud to catch prey are they... So so so sorry...

Flowingstar spied the mouse soon after Silerstream. She crept up to the slender warrior, keeping an eye on the prey. "Maybe we should just go on with the hunt," she muttered. "I guess Pixipelt is attending to other duties." Flowingstar felt a tiny disappointment inside of her. She was overly sensitive to situations like this; such small tragedies. One less hunter to supply the fresh-kill pile. She really would have liked to hunt with Pixipelt.
The feeling passed away almost instantly. Flowingstar braced herself for the hunt and glanced at Silverstream. "So let's catch this mouse!" she whispered excitedly. A shiver ricocheted down her spine. She grinned with delight.

Silverstream nodded for Flowingstar to go ehead. She knew that the Riverclan leader wanted to catch it, and she would not deprive her of that chance. __________________________________________________________________________
Riverheart just flicked his tail irritably and looked away, disgusted that Pixiepelt said she would come hunting and not show up.

Flowingstar did not notice Riverheart's irritation. She simply grinned and began stalking the mouse. She tread carefully on the slightly damp loam. It was easy for her to creep unnoticed, because the soft ground muffled her pawsteps and there were few trigs or leaves she could step on. She paused about three feet away from the mouse and lowered herself into a huddled crouching position. She gave herself a count of three before springing. One. She steadied herself, drawing in long silent breaths. Two. She tensed her shoulders flexed her claws in and out. Three. Flowingstar sprang forward immediately, rocketing her immense fluffy body toward the mouse. She saw it rear up in shock and terror, it's brown form quivering. It squeaked and fled, turning tail and darting off the rock. Flowingstar let out a snarling hiss and gave chase. In just a few bounds she caught up witht he mouse and snared it with her claws. The mouse's blood leaked out of a gash in its side and into the ground. In just a heartbeat it was dead.

Cabbagemoon trotted up to the hunt and looked can I join in he thought not wanting to speak incase he chased any pray away he sniffed the air, opening his mouth to get the smell better. Yes he could smell the mouse that had just been caught aswell as, a crow. He looked at the cats and lowered himself telling them that he had smelt something. Then he stalked forwards one foot infront of the other. Then stayed there he was to impatient to count one two three, so he just bounded and clumsily missed the crow it hopped a little and he noisily bounded after it just catching it before it took off.

Flowingstar greeted Cabbagemoon happily. "I suppose your sister told you we were here," she said, in a voice that could have been a question but in this case wasn't. She padded up to the newly arrives warrior, bringing her fresh-killed mouse with her. "Good catch," she added. "Why don't we bury these animals and be on our way. I-- wait..." She swiveled her head around slowly, hearing a tiny scrabbling. "I think there's something else around here to be caught." From the bushes to her right, Flowingstar could just barely hear the slow heartbeat of a rodent. She fixed her teal eyes on the spot, sensing the brown silhouette of a vole through the tangled branches.
Flowingstar looked to Riverheart. She indicated the bush with a flick of her tail. "There's a vole in that bush." He had not yet played much part in the patrol, and she wondered if he might like to go after this vole.

(This is me, Silverstream posting, just did not happen to log on. lol)
Silverstream admired the leaders strenth and agility, and padded up to her instantly. "Good job" she meowed. She looked around and heard the scuffling of prey everywhere, and felt hunger growl in her belly. "We should keep going" she growled. __________________________________________________________________________
Riverheart nodded in agreement. "That squeak will have scared off the prey for a good distance" he hissed. He turned his back on his leader and Silverstream, and stalked off into the undergrowth, suprised and angry at how un-leaderlike Flowingstar was acting.

Flowingstar felt a tiny twinge of anger as Riverheart turned away. She flexed her claws in the ground, kneading the soil. "Thank you, Silverstream," she muttered shortly. It was lucky that the mouse in her mouth muffled the sound, because otherwise it would have been easy to detect the irritation in her voice. Her attention was still focused on her deputy's blue-gray form. She felt like turning away, catching the vole herself, and letting him stay where he was. But that would be un-leaderlike. She had to be diplomatic. She stalked through the undergrowth to where he had gone, and spoke softly. Her voice was flat, but her speech was a question. "Where are you going?"

Cabbagemoon thought that the hunting patrol wasn't really a hunting patrol. He folowed the leader then mumbled as he always did, "Yes my sister did tell me." He flicked his tail and started to admire his pelt which was reflecting the green of the trees on it, he walked forwards following the leader then mumbling again, "I do look like a Cabbage don't I?" His eyes were sparkling and he clumbsily followed the leader.

A cabbage? Flowingstar frowned in confusion and looked at Cabbagemoon. "A cabbage, hmmmm. I suppose you do." The leaves on the surrounding trees reflected green light onto his pelt, a light minty shade.
"Better get this patrol going," she said loudly, hoping to get her warriors back together. Sometimes, for some reason, she pften had this trouble. With her friendly disposition, it was sometimes difficult to command respect. She decided she would try being firm. "If no one scents any more prey around her, we are going to go up along the river and then turn off and head deeper into the forest."
